Light Rail

Valley Metro is the Way to Go!ASU Riders-University and Rural_24

A fun and simple way to travel to the MMMF events is to ride Valley Metro. Light rail is an easy, convenient and affordable alternative to driving. A $4.00 All-day transit pass allows you to avoid traffic and parking hassles, plus have the opportunity to explore great dining and entertainment options in central Phoenix.

You can take light rail to the McDowell/Central light rail station for festivities at Margaret T. Hance Park. Free parking is available at park-and-ride lots (link to http://www.valleymetro.org/park_and_rides/) located along the entire line. Overnight parking is not allowed. If your destination is the Crescent Ballroom, take light rail to Central Station and walk west on Van Buren Street towards 2nd Avenue.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, light rail will accommodate post-MMMF activities with the last full trip departing at 2 a.m. On Sunday, the last full trip departs at 11 p.m.

Please understand that often during special events, you can expect to encounter crowds at the stations and inside the trains. Sometimes there will be occasions when a train’s capacity is reached and you will have to wait for the next one. Trains operate every 12 minutes during the peak and every 20 minutes during off-peak, late evening hours.

 Planning Your Trip

Use the Trip Planner at valleymetro.org to plan a trip on light rail or bus. Enter the desired starting and ending locations as the Trip Start and Trip End, respectively. You can use an address, intersection, or landmark name. Enter your desired trip times, then you are on your way.

Try NextRide to find out when the next bus or train is arriving. You can either call or text the STOP# to receive arrival times. To use, text 64274, enter NXRD and the STOP# located at the stop or station. Press send and you will receive the next arrival times.

Safety First

Never run after a moving bus or train. It can be dangerous and another one will be along in minutes. Only cross in the intersections or where indicated to gain safe access to a light rail station. Observe all posted safety rules—we want to see you back again for next year’s events!

Accessibility

All Valley Metro vehicles are 100% accessible for mobility aids.
